Hello everybody! I’m proud to announce another bit of progress that was made on the Touch Typing Course!
Today I finished working on quite an advanced mechanism that goes „under” all the future games and practice tools. It’s a universal mechanism that can do many great things while syncing it across all the games. I call it…
Universal Typing Mechanism
- Advanced profiling for each individual user
This mechanism is able to collect scores for every word you type. Then, after some time practicing the basics, you can have a very intentional practice. The mechanism will sort out all your scores the words that are the worst and let you practice just those. That way you can improve at things you’re worst at and improve way faster overall!
- Score and progress documentation
Of course, all your scores are saved. Not only that, they are synced across all games, practice tools, and the course itself. That way, when you make progress in your typing you don’t have to worry about taking some typing tests etc. The score is already up there!
- Categorized typing elements with a huge space for customization
I’ve created this mechanism with the customization in mind. Both for me as a creator of this course (I can add more words, paragraphs, and other elements to practice on at any point) as well as for you, as a user (You can customize your practice to your exact preferences in the practice tools).
- Multi-platform synchronization
This mechanism works on the cloud, not locally. Whichever game you’re playing, the practice tool you’re using, or the device you’re doing it from. All your important data is synced and available for you. You can play even on your phone with a Bluetooth keyboard, for example, while traveling somewhere!
- Multi-language support
You’ll be able to learn touch typing in your own language, not just in English! Also, you can practice multiple languages, not just one! The scores and advanced profiling are tied to the language you choose. Thanks to that you can learn each language individually.
- + basic typing mechanisms, support for shortcuts like ctrl + backspace, visual improvements for a better typing experience, and more
I’m thinking about creating a way for you, inside the course, to propose adding certain elements (like words, paragraphs, etc.) to the course content. That way, if you think a certain phrase would be useful to learn you can be a part of improving the course once it launches. What do you think about it? Let me know in the comments below. I’d like to hear what you think!
